Loudermilk Creator Reveals Plans For Season 4 After Show's Revival

Netflix

Loudermilk creator Peter Farrelly recently shared his plans for season 4 of the dramedy series before its cancelation. Originally airing from 2017-20, the show has experienced a resurgence in popularity after its three seasons became available for streaming on Netflix.

The show, which was an original series on the AT&T-owned Audience network, initially landed on Prime Video for streaming. While it had a small fanbase on both Amazon's streamer and Audience, it wasn't until its arrival on Netflix this year that Loudermilk gained significant traction.

In an interview with Deadline, Farrelly disclosed his vision for season 4, which would see protagonist Sam Loudermilk navigating newfound fame after selling his novel. Despite entering celebrity circles, Sam continues to run his addiction support group, leading to a conflict between his celebrity lifestyle and his commitment to helping others.

Farrelly expressed his desire for Netflix to pick up the show, emphasizing that Loudermilk has found a home on the streaming platform. He highlighted the potential storyline for season 4, blending elements of celebrity life with the challenges of maintaining genuine connections.

However, the future of Loudermilk remains uncertain due to the show's complex history. Following the shutdown of Audience by AT&T to focus on HBO Max, Loudermilk and other original series were left without a platform. Despite having an unaired third season, the show faced challenges in finding a new home.

While Prime Video acquired the distribution rights for Loudermilk's existing seasons, it was Netflix that propelled the show to newfound popularity. The series, which tackles addiction with depth and nuance, resonated with audiences on Netflix, earning a spot on the platform's top 10 charts in both Canada and the U.S.

As Loudermilk gains recognition as a hidden gem, fans are hopeful for a potential season 4. While Netflix has a track record of reviving canceled shows, there is no official confirmation yet regarding the production of a new season for Loudermilk.

All three seasons of Loudermilk are currently available for streaming on Netflix, allowing viewers to delve into the captivating world of Sam Loudermilk and his journey through fame and personal struggles.
