A road has been closed by emergency services after a car burst into flames.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service were called to Spencers Lane in Melling, at 7.48pm on Wednesday, February 8. Once firefighters arrived at the scene they found one car was well alight.
A passer-by, who asked not to be named, was walking along the canal saw a large fire on the road. When he saw emergency services arrive at the scene he started recording the blaze on his mobile phone.

The footage shows emergency service vehicles with blue lights flashing arriving at the scene. There is a huge fire ball with smoke billowing from the area.
At one point in the footage you hear a huge bang and see sparks flying from the car. No injuries have been reported in the incident.
The eyewitness said: " I was walking down the canal by Melling and I saw a large fire towards the houses on Spencers Lane and it was burning for a while. I just took a photo and video it being nosy to show my mates.
"When I saw the fire brigade and the police I just walked up as it wasn't far from the canal bridge. There was cars queueing up back over for canal bridge and they started turning round as they had been there for a while."
One firefighter wearing breathing equipment used a high pressure hose to put out the flames. Emergency services began dampening down at 8.11pm before leaving the scene at 8.44pm.
Merseyside Police are now at the scene and have closed the road in both directions.
