Lost dog is 'melting the hearts' of Lanarkshire cops who appeal to trace its owner

Police are appealing to trace the owner of a dog found wandering on a Lanarkshire street.

The little pooch was discovered at around 10am this morning at The Loaning in north Motherwell.

But he's since being well looked after by local cops who kindly took him in until he is returned home.

And the cute hound is already making quite the impression on officers at Motherwell Police Station who say he's melting their hearts.

The force posted on their social media channels today: "Officers from Motherwell are appealing for the public's help to trace the owner for this handsome wee man.

"He was found today about 10am at The Loaning, North Motherwell and is currently melting the hearts of officers and staff at Motherwell Police Station.

"His chip seems to be out of date so if you can help us trace the owner, please call 101 quoting incident number '1011 of 10th June 2022'

"Please share, thank you!"
