Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger has made a commitment to streamline wildfire recovery efforts by cutting unnecessary bureaucratic red tape. During a news conference held on a Saturday afternoon, Barger emphasized the importance of eliminating any costly requirements that do not directly relate to health and safety, as these could hinder residents from rebuilding their homes.
Barger's primary goal is to transform the role of government from being an obstacle to a facilitator in the recovery process. She aims to establish one-stop service centers where residents can access all relevant departments in real-time to receive assistance, guidance, and support for their rebuilding endeavors.
In a proactive move, Barger reached out to President-Elect Donald Trump, extending an invitation for him to participate in the wildfire recovery efforts and witness firsthand the impact of the devastation in the county.
