Sean McVay has a big decision to make over his coaching future, with reports suggesting he could be tempted to leave the Los Angeles Rams and join Amazon's broadcasting team.
The 36-year-old head coach was offered a gig with Amazon after winning the Super Bowl last season, with it being reported he was offered a huge five-year deal worth $100million (£83.6m) to join Amazon's Thursday Night Football team, according to the New York Post.
But McVay ultimately chose to remain with the Rams highlighting the idea that he'd miss being in a locker room and around the team that he has helped elevate to championship contenders since 2017.
But after a disappointing season with the Rams after winning the Super Bowl, ESPN have reported that McVay will take some time after this season to decide whether he'll return to coaching, or potentially move into TV.
The Rams cannot make the playoffs this off-season, and will play their last game of the campaign on Sunday against Seattle Seahawks.
The report states: "McVay has gone back and forth on the decision and needs time to get away to process all that has transpired over the past year: winning a Super Bowl, being courted to work in television, getting married, watching his wife's home country of Ukraine invaded, losing his grandfather and then coaching a team that has fallen short of its expectations."
After last year's Super Bowl win, McVay did admit that he strongly considered walking away from coaching to take up the TV gig, but ultimately decided against it.
He said: "But when you really sit down and think about it, the things I love most about coaching, and then the biggest thing I’d say, Bert, it’s the amount of people that would potentially be affected.
"I love coaching. I love working with guys. I love being in the foxhole with the players and coaches. And you can’t mimic and emulate that in a media job."
The Rams will have a tough road back to competing next season, with them being without their first-round pick, giving a top 10 pick away to the Detroit Lions in the upcoming draft after trading for Matt Stafford. They have also lost their offensive coordinator, Liam Coen, who has decided to return to Kentucky in college football.
Just days ago, McVay insinuated that he could consider the gig, one that he added that he has 'had interest in'. "I haven’t run away from the fact that, down the line or, you know, whenever that is, that’s something I’ve been interested in, But, I want to be here right now, focus on that, and that’s where I'm at."
