Fire crews have been working tirelessly to combat one of the largest wildfires currently raging in the Los Angeles area. At least seven helicopters were deployed overnight to assist in the efforts, according to Kenichi Haskett, a section chief of the Los Angeles County Fire Department assigned to the Palisades Fire.
Haskett mentioned that two types of aircraft are being utilized on Thursday to contain the fire, taking advantage of a temporary lull in high wind gusts. However, the forecast indicates that winds are expected to pick back up later in the day and continue into the weekend, which will once again limit firefighting efforts.

Due to the dangerous conditions posed by high winds, aircraft operations may be restricted as they could potentially crash. The Palisades Fire has already scorched over 17,000 acres of land, posing a significant threat to the surrounding areas.
To bolster the firefighting operation, additional firefighters from various California cities, other states, and even parts of Canada are expected to arrive soon to provide much-needed support. Haskett emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating that resources are being mobilized as quickly as possible to combat the wildfire effectively.
