Los Angeles City Fire Chief Kristin Crowley on Sunday urged residents who fled the Palisades Fire to be patient, emphasizing that evacuation orders and warnings are still in effect due to ongoing threats. Crowley acknowledged the frustration of residents eager to return home but stressed that first responders are diligently working to ensure safety before allowing reentry.

Crowley highlighted the hazardous conditions that persist in the Palisades area, including active fires, lack of power and water, broken gas lines, and unstable structures. These factors pose significant risks to public safety, underscoring the importance of adhering to evacuation directives.

Despite the challenges, firefighters experienced more favorable wind conditions overnight, which aided in preventing the fire from spreading further into the Mandeville Canyon area. The Palisades Fire has already consumed over 23,700 acres of land and is currently 11% contained.
