Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Chair Kathryn Barger has made a firm commitment to supporting those affected by the recent wildfires, ensuring access to all available resources for both short-term and long-term assistance.

Barger emphasized the importance of addressing the immediate needs of displaced residents while also planning for their future well-being. She stated, 'While fighting the fires remains our top priority, we are rapidly deploying resources to ensure that the displaced residents have access to the resources that they need in the short and the long term.'

Expressing her dedication to those impacted by the wildfires, Barger assured the community that she will stand by them throughout the recovery process. She affirmed, 'My commitment to those that are impacted is simple: I’m going to see this through with you. We will not let up using every resource to fight existing fires. Displaced residents will be served to the highest level as we address your housing, welfare, health care, and economic needs.'

During her statement, Barger recounted a poignant encounter with a couple who had lost their home, business, and livelihood due to the fires. She highlighted the profound suffering experienced by individuals and families affected by the devastating consequences of the wildfires.

The Chair's pledge to provide comprehensive support underscores the county's dedication to assisting residents in rebuilding their lives and communities. By prioritizing housing, welfare, healthcare, and economic recovery efforts, Los Angeles County aims to alleviate the hardships faced by those impacted by the wildfires.
