As powerful winds are forecasted to return to Los Angeles County on Saturday night, there is a significant concern that the wildfires currently burning in the area will continue to escalate, according to Cal Fire Battalion Chief David Acuna. The current wind conditions have allowed firefighters to utilize aircraft for water and fire retardant drops to reinforce containment lines, which are still considered fragile, Acuna stated on Saturday.
However, Acuna expressed worry that when the winds intensify and embers start to spread, the situation could worsen. The National Weather Service has issued a warning about heightened fire weather conditions expected to return on Saturday following a brief respite on Friday night, with gusty offshore winds anticipated along the Southern California coast.

Local firefighting crews are being supported by firefighters from various parts of California, as well as from seven other states in the US, Canada, and Mexico. Acuna emphasized the collaborative effort, stating that everyone is coming together to ensure the highest level of preparedness possible.
