The team's President of Basketball Operations announced the deal on Wednesday, refraining from disclosing specific terms. However, sources reported that the contract is valued at approximately $14 million per year and extends through the 2028-29 season.
Lue, who boasts a coaching record of 184-134 over four seasons, has guided the Clippers to three playoff appearances, including a historic trip to the Western Conference finals in 2021. The team finished last season with a 51-31 record, capturing the Pacific Division title for the third time in franchise history.
Prior to joining the Clippers, Lue famously led the Cleveland Cavaliers to an NBA championship in 2016 alongside LeBron James. Despite James' departure from the Cavaliers, Lue continued to excel, ultimately landing the head coaching role with the Clippers.
