An articulated lorry became stuck in the Jack Lynch tunnel in Cork on Tuesday afternoon causing huge delays.
The southbound approach to the tunnel was temporary closed to remove the vehicle.
The tunnel since reopened but drivers have been warned of heavy traffic and have been advised to avoid the area.
Garda Traffic on Twitter wrote: "The southbound bore of the Jack Lynch Tunnel in Cork has been closed owing to an articulated lorry getting stuck.

"Heavy traffic and delays in the area are expected. Please plan your trip accordingly."
The Dunkettle Interchange account on Twitter also warned drivers of the delays.
They wrote: "Traffic is now moving through the Jack Lynch Tunnel southbound as normal following the earlier Overheight Vehicle detection. Watch out for queues that have built up on the approaches."
