Lorraine returns after battling 'cracker of a bug' as Glasgow TV host gives thanks to Ranvir

Lorraine Kelly has returned to her show after the television presenter had to leave ahead of her morning slot due to her falling ill suddenly.

The Glasgow TV presenter explained she was "suddenly being attacked" by an unknown illness tweeting: " When you have to be sent home from work early in the morning because you are suddenly attacked by a hideous bug and were looking forward to interviewing @adamlambert THAT! Beyond disappointed but imagine if I had infected him !!!!!!"

But now, thankfully, the 63-year-old is back to normal. Giving a health update the presenter explained: "It was just a bug. Normally I can bat them away but this time it was a cracker. It got me but I'm all good."

Back in her chair, she thanked Ranvir Signh for stepping in last minute and replacing her on the show.

She said: "Can I say a massive thank you to Ranvir who, when I was sent home on Wednesday, rushed in and saved the day thank you so much love as always" as Ranvir held up her hands in the shape of a heart in response.

Good Morning Britain (GMB) television presenter Ed Balls added that she was a "superwoman" calling her "unbelievable" as she rushed into work within minutes.

Susanne added: "A update on the time it took Ranvir to get ready from the phone call announcing that Lorraine wasn't able to continue to being on a train."

In response Ranvir said: "Yes it was at 8:18am and I was on a train at 7.29 it was quite quick" with Ed joking that she must have been sleeping in the train station.
