Lorraine Kelly has been forced to come off her ITV morning show for a few days as she is replaced by Carol Vorderman. The TV presenter last hosted her Lorraine show on Friday (July 8) and has been off air since.
The Scottish star was no where to be seen on Monday morning (July 11) as the Good Morning Britain presenters linked to the Lorraine studio to reveal what was coming up. In her absence, Susanna Reid and Ed Balls were greeted by former Countdown host Carol.
Manchester Evening News reports that Carol was only a guest on the show a matter of weeks ago. She appeared on the programme, which airs every weekday from 9am on ITV, to talk about her appearance on Celebrity Gogglebox.

"Now this morning, I thought I saw Carol Vorderman in the corridor," Susanna said on GMB as they linked to the Lorraine set. Ed chimed in: "At 5am!" Susanna then continued: "At 5am and now I know the reason why," as Carol, looking like a ray of sunshine in a yellow cut-out top, appeared on screen.
"Morning," Susanna said with surprise. "Good morning, I went 'Hiya' and drifted past," Carole said mimicking their early morning exchange. "You're a vision," Susanna gushed as Carol smiled with her blonde locks styled straight.
"I didn't think you were in for our programme and you're not," Susanna said as Ed mimicked the surprise Susanna had. "We didn't think so either but sadly, Lorraine has caught the dreaded you know what and I'm sitting in here for a few days which I'm delighted to do," Carol explained.
She added: "But we are wishing her a speedy recovery," as Susanna added: "Get well soon, Lorraine!" before saying: "But in the meantime, you're doing a fabulous job, looking fabulous Carol." While she joked she didn't look like she did then at 5am, she then continued to tease what was coming up on her hour-long show.
Lorraine has also tweeted to confirm her absence is due to Covid. She wrote: "Well the Covid has finally got me and I tested positive at the weekend. Thanks to the vaccine it’s not too bad and I hope to be back at work very soon." She added: "Huge thanks to @carolvorders who will be hosting @lorraine until I’m back."
And the get well wishes soon came flooding in. @LynnEll65882377 said: "Get well soon, will miss you in the mornings." @XSweetButSassyX replied: "Oh no. I'm sorry to hear that Lorraine, hope you get better soon sending you loads of love, hugs and kisses, wishing you a very speedy recovery."
