Lorraine Kelly fans have rushed to offer their support and send messages of well-wishes as the mum-of-one returned to work after being sent home due to a mystery illness. While providing viewers with an update on her health, the ITV presenter explained why she was sent home from hosting her own show last week upon her return this morning (Feb 27).
After taking half the week off, she was asked by resident GP Dr Hilary: "Are you feeling better?" at the start of the show. Lorraine brightly replied: "I'm fine. It was so weird last week because I came in and I was sent home."
The health expert then joked: "And the doctor was away on holiday." Lorraine added: "It was just a bug. Usually, I can bat them away but this time it just... It was a cracker! It just got me, but I'm all good."

Many were pleased to see Lorraine back to her usual hosting duties. Before the start of the episode, she shared a picture of her outfit, which many were pleased to see. "Todays outfit jumpers and skirt from @mango - thanks @bronaghwebster @helenhandmakeup #fashion #stripes," Lorraine wrote alongside a snapshot of her in a long blue and white striped dress.
Katerobbins commented: "Oh I LOVE this look! Welcome back dear Lorraine x." Nancywalker2016 gushed: "Great to see you back! Fab outfit!" Pwood555 typed: "Good to see you back hope you feel better."
Doctorsgetcancertoo put: "Welcome back, hope you’re feeling better xx." Normathestormer penned: "Good to see you back." Alison.marr.4 added: "Welcome back xx."
Last Wednesday (Feb 22), after heading into work like usual, Lorraine was forced to leave before going live on air due falling ill. The TV star later took to Twitter to confirm she will not be on her show.
"When you have to be sent home from work early in the morning because you are suddenly attacked by a hideous bug and were looking forward to interviewing @adamlambert THAT!" She posted. "Beyond disappointed but imagine if I had infected him !!!!!!"
Fortunately, fellow ITV presenter Ranvir Singh was able to swoop in and replace Lorraine for the time she was off. Sending her thanks to Ranvir, Lorraine said: "Can I say a massive thank you to Ranvir, who when I was sent home on Wednesday, rushed in and saved the day. Thank you so much, love, as always."
