Lorraine Kelly says ‘women who age the best are the ones who haven’t had work done – or only the bare minimum’

Lorraine Kelly has doubled down on her vow to avoid cosmetic surgery, saying she thinks the women who age the best are the ones who “haven’t had any work done”.

The Scottish TV presenter, 63, has been vocal in the past about her thoughts on going under the knife, saying she doesn’t want to end up looking like a “boiled egg” and is instead embracing her natural looks “the way my face is supposed to be”.

Now, appearing on the May cover of Prima Magazine, she has now reaffirmed that viewpoint, telling the publication: “I think the women who age the best are the ones who haven’t had work done – or only the bare minimum.

“Having surgery is like jazzing up your living room: you start by getting new curtains, then the carpet looks shabby, so you change that, and then the sofa doesn’t fit. Soon enough, you don’t recognise yourself any more.”

The mum-of-one went on to say that she is fully embracing her 60s, insisting; “It feels like a great time to be my age.”

Kelly also said that she now feels that she is at a stage of her life where she can “wear and do whatever I like”.

It follows her remarks in December, when she told Closer magazine: “I don’t mind that I’ve got wrinkles, or that I have signs of ageing, because it’s the way my face is supposed to be.

“Of course, I want to look as good as I can but I don’t want to look like a boiled egg and as though I have no features!”
