Lorraine Kelly's plans for Deborah James tattoo after making promise to her late pal

Lorraine Kelly has revealed she's planning to get a tattoo in memory of the wonderful Dame Deborah James.

The 62-year-old TV presenter attended Deborah's funeral in Barnes, London, on Wednesday and was keen to talk about the 'beautiful' send off.

As she opened Thursday's edition of her ITV show, Lorraine was sat outside the studio with Dr Hilary Jones.

Speaking about Dame Deborah, who sadly lost her battle with bowel cancer last month, Lorraine said: "She'll never ever be forgotten. And I think yesterday there was a whole bunch of us that said we're going to get tattoos with Rebellious Hope on them, I think I agreed to that!"

Hilary replied: "Okay okay," before adding: "Why are you looking at me?"

Giggling, Lorraine told him: "We're just deciding where they're going to be Hilary."

Dr Hilary then said: "The only person I would do it for is Deborah, so I'll have a think about that!" suggesting that he might get inked too.

Close friends and family said farewell to Dame Deborah at an intimate private service at St Mary’s Church in Barnes, west London, on Wednesday.

The mourners included McFly star Tom Fletcher and his podcaster wife Giovanna, and TV presenters Gaby Roslin, Sophie Raworth as well as Lorraine.

“We celebrated the life of a truly incredible person yesterday, our Dame Deborah," Lorraine said at the beginning of her show.

“She is remarkable. It was beautiful, so beautiful, such a celebration of an amazing, amazing woman.

“There were a lot of tears and there really was genuinely a lot of laughs too, so it was great. She planned it all and it was perfection, as you would expect.”

Dame Deborah’s coffin arrived in a vintage Rolls-Royce hearse with more than a dozen members of family walking behind it.

Taking to her Instagram on Wednesday evening, Lorraine posted a snap of Dame Deborah on her show and captioned it: "@bowelbabe - my dear friend your funeral today was beautiful.

"Your children and your husband gave the most heartfelt and lovely tributes. You would have been so proud. I miss you - you fabulous, funny, passionate force of nature. #rebellioushope #love #checkyourpoo," she added.

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV and ITV Hub.
