Lorraine Kelly's ITV return date has been revealed after she fell ill and missed her show all week.
Carol Vorderman has stepped in for the ITV broadcaster this week after she caught Covid and whilst Lorraine has been recovering at home, Carol has been leading the programme every morning this week and interviewing all the guests.
As Carol appeared on the show again today, she took a moment to update fans on Lorraine's health, insisting she was doing better and revealing just when she'd be back in the hot seat as long as she gets a negative test in the coming days.
Speaking on today's show, Carol said: "Good morning everyone, I'm still here filling in for Lorraine today. She's feeling a lot better thank goodness and hoping to be back in her chair where she belongs on Monday."
Earlier this week, Lorraine announced on social media that she would be missing the first few shows this week.
"Well the Covid has finally got me and I tested positive at the weekend. Thanks to the vaccine it’s not too bad and I hope to be back at work very soon," she penned on Twitter as she reassured fans she was doing ok.
"Huge thanks to @carolvorders who will be hosting @lorraine until I’m back."
Earlier this week, Carol also reassured Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain that Lorraine was doing better, as the hosts asked about their friend and how she was doing. She said everyone had been hopeful that Lorraine would be back later this week providing she gets a negative test, but it looks like Lorraine now won't be back until next week.
On Monday, Susanna seemed shocked to see Carol in the seat, confessing she didn't think she was hosting the show until she spotted her in the studio - appearing to confirm it was a late replacement.
Responding to Susanna, Carol said: "We didn't think so either but sadly Lorraine has caught the dreaded you know what, and I'm sitting in for a few days here. But we are wishing her a speedy recovery."
*Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV at 9am.
