Lorraine Kelly responded to comedian Joe Lycett's hilarious fake Sue Gray report he published on social media.
Joe tweeted out a 'leaked' version of the report into the Downing Street party scandal, with tongue-in-cheek findings like WhatsApp group chats titled 'Down It Street'
The ITV presenter couldn't help laughing at Lycett's joke at the governments scandal as we eagerly await the findings from Sue Gray's report.
Joe tweeted: "BREAKING: Leaked Sue Gray report reveals shocking abuse of the rules. Hard to see how the PM can cling on after this."
On his faked document, Joe wrote out findings like: "Games were played which were known as 'Slow Dance' and 'Pass The A******e'.
"One advisor insisted this report makes clear 'it's categorically not a breach of the rules to be part of a human centipede if said centipede was formed prior to lockdown'.
"Please forward any queries to my email ItsAllSueGravyBaby@aol.com"
Lorraine responded to the comedians on hysterical report taking to Twitter, writing: "You are very silly. Please keep it up! Xxx"
The breakfast presenter wasn't the only one who enjoyed the comedian poking fun at Partygate and the government.
Another user joked: "It was impossible for him to have broken lockdown restrictions at the party as he was on the moon where there were no restrictions as you can see clearly!"
One user said: "This is brilliant. And so are the replies that analyse the validity of the leak. We're in a massive bowl of arse mustard if it's hard to tell whether this is genuine it a joke."
"This is brilliant. And so are the replies that analyse the validity of the leak. We're in a massive bowl of arse mustard if it's hard to tell whether this is genuine it a joke," penned a third.
Another wrote: "took me way too long to realise this was a pisstake, god dammit."
A fifth penned: "I think it’s very telling and very scary that it took until point 7 for me to realise this was definitely a joke. it all just sounds so plausible"
But some people didn't find the comedian's take particularly funny given the circumstances.
One user ranted: "Fake News perpetuating to be real, please, this does not help the situation in hand and causes folk to go off on a tangent. There is NO funny side to this! x"
"Sorry Joe but not funny. What has happened is disgusting. we shouldn't make fun of it. Some of us couldn't say goodbye to loved ones and lost loved ones due to covid," another ranted.
A third wrote: "Fake news! Not even remotely amusing, just something for people to spread. Waste of time. Not even sure how this made it as a notification for me?!"
Lycett even apparently had government ministers panicking after he released his joke, sharing anonymous DM's from a social media account tweeting: "This is an actual series of messages I have received from someone who works for a cabinet minister. Source is verified."
Lorraine is on weekdays at 9am on ITV.
