Glasgow's Lorraine Kelly has been sent home ahead of her TV morning show after falling ill.

Good Morning Britain (GMB) television presenters updated viewers and explained that co-star, Ranvir Singh stepping in to replace her.

Confirming Lorraine was not fit to host this morning, Kate Garraway and Ed Balls explained the Glaswegian host was sent home. Kate joked it was a "good job" Ranvir got herself out of bed - or there wouldn't have been a show.

Taking to Twitter, the 63-year-old Glasgow born presenter explained that she has been "suddenly being attacked" by an unknown illness.

The morning's show, aired on STV and ITV, included an interview from legendary Adam Lambert, with Lorraine told fans she was gutted about missing the chat with the American singer songwriter.

She added: "When you have to be sent home from work early in the morning because you are suddenly attacked by a hideous bug and were looking forward to interviewing @adamlambert THAT! Beyond disappointed but imagine if I had infected him !!!!!!"

People were quick to wish the presenter a fast recovery and hope that she can make it back to her show fast.

Replying to her Twitter update one said: "Oh no! That IS disappointment indeed. He is amazing!!! But thank you for protecting @adamlambert and hope you feel better soon.

Another added: "Get well soon lovely x"

"Oh no, that is awful… hope you get well very soon. Adam is one of a kind. A Vocal God" tweeted a third.
