Lorraine Kelly red-faced as dress button 'pops off' in wardrobe malfunction on air

Lorraine Kelly was left red-faced and in hysterics after the top button of her dress popped off live on air while she was interviewing The Wanted.

The Scots presenter, 61, was mortified as she interrupted the band's chat to confess her wardrobe malfunction which left her clutching at her chest.

Tom Parker, Jay McGuinness, Siva Kaneswaran, Max George and Nathan Sykes had joined her in the studio as they spoke about their special gig and upcoming tour.

Following Tom's terminal brain cancer diagnosis a year ago, he contacted the rest of the band members to organise a special concert and said he was keen to go on tour.

But the chat got derailed towards the end of the interview as Lorraine fiddled around with her dress to protect her dignity.

She confessed: "I'm so sorry, my top button popped with excitement!"

"That was directly in my line of vision too," Jay quipped.

"I'm so sorry about that," Lorraine cringed in embarrassment. "You boys don't need that in the morning!

As she pulled her shirt closed with one hand, Tom joked: "We do!"

"I'm so sorry," Lorraine continued to apologise, looking flushed. "Thank you both - all of you... what am I saying?!"

The band collapsed into laughter as they thanked her as well.

"You boys are fantastic, thank you so much," she said and went on to announce to viewers what was to come on the programme.

As she began to talk to fashion expert Mark, she said: "I'm going to go and get this pinned up to make sure nothing else happens!"

"I'm chuckling over at Westfield [shopping centre]," he laughed. "Is your button OK? Do you need to get it sorted?"

"Yes, it's fine," she said, clutching at her top.

*Lorraine airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
