Lorraine Kelly, Mel C and Chris Hughes join one-off ITV drag show Queens For The Night

Lorraine Kelly, Mel C and Chris Hughes have joined forces for a new one-off ITV drag show.

The trio will unite as a slew of celebrities will channel their inner drag queens for Queens For The Night, which is set to launch on ITV and ITV Hub later this year.

Queens For The Night is set to be hosted by drag super-fan Lorraine while Spice Girl Mel C, comedian Rob Beckett, Drag artist Courtney Act and star of West End hit Everybody's Talking About Jamie, Layton Williams will form the judging panel.

Trying to impress the judging panel, viewers will see Simon Gregson, Mr Motivator MBE, Chris Hughes, George Shelley, Adam Woodyatt and Joe Marler, unleashing their drag alter-egos as they attempt to go head to head to be crowned the winning Queen.

The primetime celebrity drag contest pairs each wannabe queen with their very own drag mentor, as they attempt to master the craft and perfect wearing heels while also honing a special drag talent such as singing, dancing, lip syncing or comedy.

The contestants will then perform live in front of a panel of expert judges and a live studio audience before one celebrity is crowned the ultimate winner.

RuPaul's Drag Race UK stars Blu Hydrangea, Kitty Scott-Claus and Asttina Mandella will join up with La Voix, Myra DuBois, Margo Marshall to guide and teach the stars as they prepare their drag personas.

Lorraine Kelly said of the upcoming special: "I'm so excited to be hosting this show. I am a huge fan of Drag and can not wait to see a host of well known stars embrace this uniquely wonderful and uplifting skill.

"It's a show that will have humour, warmth and above all lots and lots of glamour, I can't wait to get started."

While Mel C added: "I've always been a huge fan of drag and in 2019, I was lucky enough to do a World Tour or Prides with some of the most wonderful and creative queens out there!

"On that tour I really learnt what's needed to cut the mustard on this fabulous world and I can't wait to see how our celebrities measure up with their incredible mentors guiding them every step of the way."

Queens For The Night will air on ITV later this year.
