Lorraine Kelly likens Madonna’s appearance in latest social media post to ‘a boiled egg’

Lorraine Kelly has likened Madonna’s appearance to a “boiled egg” as she discussed the music icon on her ITV morning show on Monday.

The 64-year-old hitmaker raised eyebrows on Sunday after suggesting she is gay while taking part in a new viral TikTok trend.

The Material Girl singer shared a clip of herself in her bathroom, throwing a pair of underwear into a bin and missing entirely alongside the caption, “If I miss, I’m gay!”

It’s unclear whether the Grammy winner was joking or making a statement about her sexuality, but at present she is been accused of ‘queer-baiting’ in light of the video.

And while Madonna stirs controversy online, ITV presenter Lorraine was more shocked by the songstress’s appearance in the video.

As Ross King discussed the forore, Kelly weighed in: “Is that actually Madonna? I don’t recognise her!

“Honestly, what’s she done? She was so beautiful - why, why, why do women do this to themselves?’

“She looks like a boiled egg, she doesn’t look like she’s got any features. I’m cross because I really like her, I really do.”

The broadcaster, 62, then compared the Vogue singer’s appearance to that of Annie Lennox, 67, who they had just been talking about during the entertainment segment.

Kelly added: “We saw the picture of her there, phenomenal!

“And she looks a hell of a lot better than Madonna does because she hasn’t had any work done on her face and she looks incredible!”

The TV presenter’s comments come as Madonna has faced backlash from fans, who have taken offense after she teased her sexuality in her new video.

Since sharing the clip, many have accused her of 'queer-baiting', where someone implies they are members of the LGBTQ+ community without acting on it.

One penned on Twitter: “Madonna queer baiting for relevance in 2022 is not something I expected.”

“Madonna is not gay. She just wants attention,” another claimed online.

A commentator alleged: “They doing this to reignite their career, attention seeking. Madonna is not gay and never was.”

The Evening Standard have contacted Madonna’s rep for comment.
