Lorraine Kelly hits back at 'rude' troll who mocked her appearance

One 'rude' internet troll has been silenced by Scottish TV star Lorraine Kelly, after they decided to mock her appearance on social media.

The presenter publicly responded to the viewers message, as she finished hosting her ITV self-titled show on Wednesday, March 1.

One viewer watched the programme and suggested that Lorraine needed 'a makeover'. Writing on Twitter, the viewer said: "I really think Lorraine needs a makeover hair is awful I’m surprised no one has mentioned this time for a short cut Lorraine." This tweet was picked up by the host herself, who decided to hit back at the rude online troll.

Quote tweeting the original post, Lorraine said: "Well good morning Cathy - only problem - when I have short hair I look like Wilson from 'Castaway' (if you know you know)."

This was a joking reference to the 2000 American survival film, that included a ball with a red 'face' shape printed on it - and included a funky stick-up hairstyle.

Fans flocked to the Scottish stars aide to support her, as one Twitter user wrote: "How rude are some people! Lorraine, I think you look beautiful just the way you are xx."

Another added: "Coming from Cathy, sporting her Karen cut and a combover… rude."

And a third wrote: "Lorraine you always look fab and bring cheer to our screens everyday. How sad to see a female sharing publicly such negative thoughts about another female!

"Dare to lift each other up instead of tearing each other down."

And one concluded: "You are far more graceful in your replies to stuff like this than I could ever be."

Lorraine returns to ITV on Friday, March 3 at 9am. Her self-titled show airs on ITV every weekday at 9am.
