Lorraine Kelly hails Nicola Sturgeon as 'brilliant politician' who 'will be missed'

Lorraine Kelly has praised Nicola Sturgeon as an 'undeniably brilliant politician' who 'will be missed' as the First Minister today announced her resignation.

The politician confirmed she will step down from the role after eight years during a press conference in Edinburgh, explaining it was the "correct timing" to end her leadership in Scotland.

In a live broadcast on Wednesday, the First Minister said: "In my head and in my heart I know that time is now, that it is right for me, for my party and for the country."
