Lorraine Kelly gives career update as she is absent from ITV show

Lorraine Kelly has given an update on her career while missing from her ITV daytime talk show.

Ranvir Singh is stepping in for the Scottish host this week as Lorraine takes a break. She is currently working on a Sky History documentary about World War II alongside comedian Harry Hill, Liza Tarbuck and wildlife expert Chris Packham.

Speaking to the Express, Lorraine admitted that while she loves her "day job" she would love to do more work elsewhere. She said that she would love to do more documentaries in the future.

The 62-year-old said: "I love my 'day job' but it’s good to have more time to delve deeper into a subject." She added: "I would love to do a travel show on Greenland and Mongolia."

When asked what drew her to the documentary role, the ITV presenter admitted: "It was a chance to do something completely different and dig deep into a subject I find fascinating." She added: "Talking to the various experts for a long chunk of time was one of the joys of doing the show. I love talking to people who are passionate about their subjects."
