Lorraine Kelly has spoken out after being put on the spot about becoming the new Countdown host following Anne Robinson's departure from the show.
Lorraine was made to address the potential career change after being asked if she'd take on the role on ITV's Good Morning Britain.
Anne, 77, who was the first female presenter of the much loved show, said she was taking a step back to spend more time with her family.
Anne took over from Nick Hewer last year and was the sixth host of Countdown.
GMB's Kate Garraway and Adil Ray asked Lorraine if she would consider taking on the mantle as they crossed over to her programme today.
Adil said: "Lorraine, quick one, we are talking to Sandi Toksvig later. People are tipping her to be the new host of Countdown, some are hoping it will be Carol Vorderman.
"It has just occurred to me... what about Lorraine Kelly? Lorraine presenting Countdown? You might need a jet pack! You may need a jet pack to get to the Channel 4 studios..."
Lorraine playfully replied: "That's a good idea. Do you not think it may be a bit much? The morning and the afternoon? Hosting Countdown..."
Adil smiled: "I was going to put you on the spot then - pick one...." and Lorraine replied: "Carol and Sandi, though. A great shout. I like that. Job share?"
Adil laughed: "Job share!" and Kate said: "Check in with you later, Lorraine. It's competition time..."
