Lorraine Kelly was forced to pull out of her show at the last minute on Wednesday after coming down with a mystery illness.
The Scots presenter was replaced by fellow ITV star Ranvir Singh who got the call at 7:18am asking her to replace Lorraine for her 9am ITV show. It was announced on Good Morning Britain that the 63-year-old would be unable to present her chat show as Kate Garraway announced she had been sent home sick for the first time in 30 years.
After making it in the nick of time, Ranvir wished Lorraine a speedy recovery as she took over the job for the day. Lorraine confirmed she had come down with a 'hideous bug' and was gutted to miss hosting her ITV show.
Taking to Twitter, Lorraine wrote: "When you have to be sent home from work early in the morning because you are suddenly attacked by a hideous bug and were looking forward to interviewing @adamlambert THAT! Beyond disappointed but imagine if I had infected him !!!!!!"
Fans took to Twitter to wish the presenter well, and shared her disappointment about missing out on the show.
"Sorry to hear that Lorraine @adamlambert is SO missing out. Get well soon x," replied one. Another wrote: "Blimey hope ur ok xx".
A third said: "Gutted for you Lorraine! Always love your interviews with Adam! A fellow dundonian interviewing the best singer on the planet."
The ITV presenter almost missed her show last year due to an alarm clock blunder. The broadcaster announced she was running late for her show for the first time in 12 years after her 5.35am alarm didn't go off.
Sharing a photo of the clock, she wrote: "So this is a first. Woke up - convinced I’d slept in - super fast shower - threw on clothes and then looked at time properly…."
She added: "So after getting up early, I've managed for the FIRST time to sleep in - YIKES!!!!" Before later adding she would make it to the ITV studios on time."
Lorraine airs weekdays on STV at 9am.
