Lorraine Kelly Blasts Katy Perry’s Space Trip and Says ‘Just Shut Up’ in Fiery Rant on GMB

Lorraine Kelly didn’t hold back on Good Morning Britain as she went off on a passionate rant about Katy Perry’s recent Blue Origin space flight, admitting she was “fuming” over the whole thing.

The 64-year-old presenter, known for her straight-talking style, was on the show to promote her upcoming episode featuring comedian Joe Lycett, who, ironically, will be chatting about space. But when hosts Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid brought up Katy Perry’s recent suborbital trip, Lorraine completely lost her cool. “Don’t get me started about that,” she said. “I’m fuming. I’m fuming”, reported the Mirror.

Katy, 40, was one of six women aboard Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin NS-31 flight earlier this month — a short, 11-minute journey into space that’s been widely covered in the media. But Lorraine wasn’t impressed, especially with the suggestion that the passengers should be called astronauts.

“They cannot call themselves astronauts,” she snapped. “How can they call themselves astronauts when they were up on a jolly for 11 minutes? There already has been an all-women crew up in space — proper astronauts. It was ridiculous.”

But the real zinger came when Lorraine appeared to take aim at Katy’s vibe during the flight. “That woman with her daisy. Shut up. Just shut up. Go away and leave me alone.”

A visibly stunned Susanna Reid replied: “I’m looking forward to your next interview with Katy Perry!”

Lorraine’s comments quickly made waves online, with viewers split between backing her no-nonsense stance and accusing her of being a bit too harsh. But for fans of classic Lorraine moments, it was vintage Kelly — blunt, fiery, and unfiltered.
