Lorraine Kelly has described Boris Johnson's latest apology as "toe curling stuff" as a political expert revealed he'd apologised 90 times.
During a chat with the Daily Mirror's political correspondent Pippa Crerar, Lorraine talked about the Prime Minister's new apology to the public following his 'Partygate' lawbreaking.
She said:" It's toe curling stuff" and later added: "You said there could be a lot more apologies still to come. It's all about trust isn't it?"
Boris said he was sorry with 'full humility' over the £50 fixed-penalty notice he got from Scotland Yard during his first Commons appearance since Easter.
He added: 'It did not occur to me then or subsequently that a gathering in the Cabinet Room just before a vital meeting on Covid strategy could amount to a breach of the rules.'
The Daily Mirror's political expert Pippa Crerar said: "For me, as you rightly said, that was toe curling in the Commons yesterday. We might see more of it.
"The Prime Minister actually ended up apologising 90 times which was kind of what his MPs expected him to do, and he will have to go through that and having to be humble about the whole thing again, should more fines come."
She added: 'He was also met with incredulity from the public by proclaiming that the laws that he wrote himself, he didn't know that he'd broken them."
