Glasgow has made it down to the final two UK cities still in the running to host The Eurovision Song Contest, alongside Liverpool.
And many Scots celebs have thrown their support behind Glasgow to hold the popular competition. Ukraine won this year's contest, but due to the current conflict the country is unable to hold the event next year and Glasgow and Liverpool were successful out of a list of cities such as Manchester, Sheffield Leeds, Newcastle and London.
The final decision on the Host City of the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest will be made within weeks and is decided by the BBC in conjunction with the European Broadcasting Union. Whilst Liverpool is a fabulous city, we reckon Glasgow just has that bit more edge, and many celebs agree.
Back in 1969, Glasgow's very own Lulu won the competition with Boom Bang-a-Bang and even she reckons that Glasgow should host next year. Speaking to the BBC, she thinks Glasgow is ready to host: "I know how much we love music, how much we supported music, how many great talents have come from there. I also know - and I can be objective too because I live outside of Glasgow - how warm-hearted an audience they are. I know how brilliantly a job they would do.
"At this point if we had Glasgow, I will feel it's my house that's putting this party on. Glasgow is very sophisticated in so many ways. It's cultured. But it's also got the people who have the biggest hearts. Look back at my heritage and why I had the life and career I've had - it's because of what I learned back there."
And Drag Race UK winner Lawrence Chaney said they would love Glasgow to host. They wrote: "I would LOVE to see Glasgow host Eurovision! I’ve got my fingers and my legs crossed."
One fan even called for Lawrence to host it with Lorraine Kelly, and Lawrence said they would definitely be up for it, and so did Lorraine, she wrote: "How fabulous would that be!" She then spoke about it on her show and said that the pair are available and free and would even do it absolutely free of charge.
And Rylan, who has co-presented the results on the show for the UK the last few years said: "EUROVISION 2023 …. Glasgow or Liverpool. Good luck to both cities bidding teams. Both great cities."
The Glasgow Hydro had been the bookies' favourite to host the event over the other 19 areas competing. Any city with a bid in must meet a certain criteria including being within easy reach of an international airport and having enough hotel accommodation for at least 2,000 delegates, journalists and spectators.
At one point, Glasgow was as big as even money and First Minister Nicola Sturgeon backed the bid for the city to be the official location for Eurovision 2023, with the Hydro arena earmarked for the huge event.
