Lorraine floored by Susanna Reid's daily backstage habit during Good Morning Britain

Lorraine Kelly was floored to discover Susanna Reid's daily habit while filming Good Morning Britain.

Lorraine invited the morning anchor onto her show to discuss the importance of a good night's sleep and the setbacks a restless night can cause. With a morning call of 3:30am, Susanna said it was paramount to her mental and physical health to have a proper rest otherwise she wouldn't be able to make it through the day.

Lorraine shared the sentiment that morning television can be difficult before Susanna revealed an after-work nap was the best method to combat tiredness. She said she would often return home and head straight to bed instead of resting on the sofa for a much more revitalised feeling.

Lorraine asked whether or not coffee played a factor in Susanna's routine and asked how much she consumes each morning. Susanna said: "Well I thought it was eight [cups] but [the staff] in the green room this morning who were doing my coffee said I have nine."

A gobsmacked Lorraine burst into screams as she said: "Nine! Susanna, nine! How do you ever nap with nine coffees?" The GMB host clarified she doesn't actually finish every cup she's handed but instead sips on them throughout the course of her shift.

She added: "They're brilliant. They just keep them coming." Lorraine eventually settled and shared that she too relies on "that hit" each morning and joked she wouldn't be the same without it.

Susanna went on to say she refuses to have any caffeine after midday and wouldn't even treat herself to a cup of tea as that would "interrupt her sleep."
