Lorraine Kelly made a stinging jibe at Boris Johnson as his leadership hangs in the balance.
The ITV host was doing a crossover with Ed Balls and Susanna Reid from breakfast show Good Morning Britain, as she revealed what would be happening on her show which was coming up in a little while.
As she commented about Mr Johnson's flailing leadership, following the resignations of multiple Conservative MPs from their positions last night and this morning, Lorraine likened it to a "soap opera".
So far, Chancellor Rishi Sunak and Health Secretary Sajid Javid have quit as well as Laura Trott and Will Quince, as the fall out from the government's recent conduct continues to spiral.
Speaking to Ed and Susanna, Lorraine was in disbelief as she said: "Morning, it's like being in a soap opera. It just seems to never end."
As she confirmed what else would be on the show, she added: "Obviously, we'll be following any more resignations and indeed what is happening in Parliament. You couldn't make it up, could you? See you later!"
Lorraine has been fiercely critical of the Prime Minister, previously saying it was "one rule for one, one for another" over Partygate.
"It’s very interesting they are hiding behind this investigation. For goodness sake, you and I could do this investigation in half an hour. Did you send that email? Did you go to that party? Yes or no, that’s it," she said at the time.
"Why do we need to have an investigation that rumbles on and gives them an excuse to hide behind that. It’s infuriating."
She added: "We’ve had all this all along. We had it with Dominic Cummings and his eyes and that nonsense. It seems to have never stopped. It’s actually really dangerous. If people think they’re not bothering, so why should I, you’re putting people’s lives at risk."
Boris also made a jibe at Lorraine - asking who she was - when Susanna spoke to him on Good Morning Britain a few weeks ago.
During the chat, Johnson claimed to not know who she was, asking: "Who's Lorraine," before looking around, causing Susanna to hit back: "Who's Lorraine? Lorraine's a legend." He then appeared to mumble, as the sound cut off
"Great, fantastic, well I don't want to talk to Lorraine..." as the show then went off air.
