Lorraine Crosby blows This Morning's Vernon Kay away with her incredible Meat Loaf story

Lorraine Crosby's voice was heard by millions of viewers on Wednesday as she performed a spine tingling tribute to Meat Loaf on This Morning, with host Vernon Kay blown away by her incredible story.

Lorraine is the Geordie singer whose vocals wowed people all over the world in the 90s, when she featured on the late and great music legend's smash hit number 1 I'd Do Anything For Love.

While, she didn't appear as Meat Loaf's love interest in the accompanying music video, which itself quickly gained legendary status, it was Lorraine's soaring voice that could be heard on the record and in the video, with a model miming along to her vocals.

Like millions of people worldwide, Lorraine was deeply saddened by Meat Loaf's death last month at age of 74.

Speaking on Radio 5 at the time, Lorraine, who has gone onto perform all over the world and is a stalwart of Sunday for Sammy in Newcastle, said: "It's a sad day. He gave me a career with that song, God bless him.

"Without him I probably wouldn't have done much more, but I was lucky enough to do that."

Lorraine, who stars in hit stage show Anything for Love, joined co-star Steven Steinman, no relation of famous Meat Loaf composer and producer Jim, for a special performance on This Morning.

Before she and Steve, who once appeared as Meat Loaf on Stars in their Eyes, started singing, they spoke to Vernon and co-host presenter Rochelle Humes.

And Vernon was left in shock as Lorraine explained how she ended up on one of the biggest number 1 hits of all time.

She told him: "I was signed by Jim Steinman. I was taken to the studio to meet everyone on the day they were recording Anything for Love and they said 'will go go in the booth and sing that with Meat Loaf?'"

In shock Vernon reacted: "Simple as that? Didn't you send a demo tape?"

Lorraine added: "I sent a demo tape to Jim Steinman and he became my manager. On the day he invited me to Los Angeles and we went in there and, next thing I know, I'm singing with him (Meat Loaf)."

Vernon responded: "Old school. Sent an actual tape in. Not a TikTok thing, an actual tape.

After Lorraine then revealed that she only sang the song twice in the recording studio, Vernon told her: "Hang on? You only sang it twice in the booth and they used one of those versions? How talented are you?!"
