Lorraine backs Scots band in the charts after their mum appealed to the presenter to step in

Lorraine Kelly has backed Scottish band Saint PHNX on social media after their mum reached out to the presenter for some support for their new single.

Musical duo Saint PHNX, formed by two brothers Alan and Stevie Jukes, recently released their latest single 'Angel' as a tribute to their late father who passed away from Covid-19.

Their mum reached out to the ITV presenter after the boys single made it to No 13 in the iTunes chart, telling Lorraine 'they need your help' as they're up against the 'big boys and girls' like Ed Sheeran and Adele.

Saint PHNX shared a copy of their mum's email on Twitter to try and get the attention of the Scottish journalist.

The 61-year-old TV presenter responded to the band's tweet, replying: "Checking it out ! Sounds amazing xxx"

Proud mum Fay Jukes pleaded with Lorraine check out the band, writing: "My boys Stevie and Alan - Saint PHNX released their song Angel this week and their EP is in the charts, which is unbelievable.

"The song is a tribute to their dad (mu husband) who sadly died during Covid."

She continued: "They have just added a version which includes the bagpipes, which sounds phenomenal.

"I know you're busy but I'm asking if you could take a few minutes of your time and give them a listen.

"I know their story will resonate with many of your viewers both young and old.

"They're Scottish, they're smart, and they're funny, please give them a chance and have them on your show.

"From one proud mammy to another."

Fans of the brothers rushed to support the duo as they took to social media to grab Lorraine's attention.

One wrote: "Wow just listened to Angel on Spotify now following you guys. From a wee Scottish lassie keep up the good work!"

Another said: "This email has just made me well up, that last line. Good luck guys!"

A third penned: "This is too pure. Good luck boys x"

"Scottish mammies are the greatest," replied another.

A fifth gushed: "The song is fantastic"
