FORMER Rangers captain Lorenzo Amoruso reckons Napoli are 'superior' to his old side, but reckons they could come unstuck if they start believing their own hype.
Rangers face the Serie A club in their rearranged Champions League group stage match tomorrow at Ibrox.
The Italian former skipper of Rangers believes his countrymen should prove to be too strong for his old side, but only if they don't crumble in Govan.
Amoruso said: "Rangers will fight to the end and Napoli will be entering a very warm atmosphere. But Napoli are superior.
"Napoli's main danger could be themselves. They must understand that they cannot even think of underestimating their opponent in the slightest.
"I think Napoli are improving and with Luciano Spalletti teams, you find the second seasons are always the best.
"The fear is they start thinking they are unbeatable and a great team because of what they did to Liverpool.
"A victory here would give Napoli are a big chance of qualifying and although they will face 50,000 fans, Napoli are hardly new to this situation.
"I don't know why there are no away fans because I can guarantee you there would be no risk to the Napoli fans. I have played for Rangers in Europe and in the league and I can tell you the Scots are very sporting people."
Meanwhile, Amoruso's countryman and former Rangers teammate, Marco Negri, has warned Napoli they will be up against 12 men tonight.
He said: "Ibrox is quite an experience. It's the 12th man for Rangers really. "Last season, when they reached the Europa League Final, they were carried through by their supporters at Ibrox.
"The first minutes of the game will be vital because Rangers are not in a positive frame of mind after two heavy defeats and their fans will want them to put that right and attack.
"Also the game has changed in Scotland a lot. When I played the central defenders were like blacksmiths!
"Now because Rangers have played so many games in Europe and have European coaches, they now mix intensity with technique.
"I would say Rangers are a totally different team at home than when they are away in Europe."
