Lord Sugar celebrates romantic 52nd wedding anniversary with his wife in lockdown

Lord Alan Sugar and his wife Ann Simons celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on Tuesday while in lockdown.

The 73-year-old Apprentice boss marked the momentous occasion by sharing a throwback picture on social media.

In the post, Alan revealed a black and white picture of the happy couple that was taken on their wedding day in 1968.

He also shared a second picture dated from 2018 where the couple toasted their marriage with a glass of red wine.

Unlike some of his previous wedding anniversaries, that involved an enormous star-studded party in 2018, this year was more of a low-key affair.

The business mogul had a gorgeous bouquet of red roses delivered to his wife despite the lockdown.

"Today my wife and I have been married 52 years. Trolls ignore the 2018 picture," he wrote alongside the throwback snaps.

In his second post he showed off the beautiful delivery of flowers.

He added: "I managed to send the wife these for our 52nd even with the lock down."

Alan was inundated with messages from fans as they celebrated their big day.

"Congratulations... 52 year anniversary is bigger and more valuable than any business milestone or financial income! I hope you both have a lovely day. here’s to many more," wrote one fan.

Another added: "I hope you're the happier one! She must be a cool lady if she has put up with you for so long!"

Lord Sugar met Ann when he was just 18 years old.

Speaking about how he proposed to Ann, the business magnate revealed that it wasn't overly-romantic.

"There was certainly no going down on one knee, with a rose, in a restaurant. In fact we were going over the Stratford flyover in the minivan at the time," he said.

The happy couple got married on Great Portland Street and have gone on to enjoy over five decades together.

In that time, the couple have welcomed two sons, a daughter and seven grandchildren.
