Loose Women stars pay tear-jerking tribute to Brenda's son Jamal Edwards after sad death

Loose Women have aired a tear-jerking tribute to Jamal Edwards after he died age 31.

The SB.TV founder - who is the son of regular Loose Women panellist Brenda Edwards - tragically passed away yesterday and his life has been remembered in a heartbreaking tribute on the ITV lunchtime show.

Five panellists - Charlene White, Judi Love, Linda Robson, Carol McGiffin and Frankie Bridge - joined the show today to pay tribute to Jamal as they promised mum Brenda that the show would celebrate his incredible life.

Earlier today, Brenda sent in a statement to ITV after Jamal's death, confirming he passed away after a sudden illness.

"It is with the deepest heartache that I confirm that my beautiful son Jamal Edwards passed away yesterday morning after a sudden illness. Myself, his sister Tanish and the rest of his family and friends are completely devastated," she said.

"He was the centre of our world. As we come to terms with his passing, we ask for privacy to grieve this unimaginable loss. I would like to thank everyone for their messages of love and support. Jamal was an inspiration to myself and so many. Our love for him lives on, his legacy lives on. Long live Jamal Edwards MBE, MBA, PHD."

Back in November, Jamal appeared on the ITV lunchtime show with his mum Brenda.

Asked why he decided to start his famous YouTube channel, he said: "My friends weren’t being represented in mainstream media, so that’s what inspired me. But obviously my mum’s work ethic inspired me.

"I remember going to pub when she was doing karaoke and doing my homework there. She was always working very hard."

Brenda recently appeared on Strictly The Real Full Monty, where she stripped to raise awareness of cancer. Brenda herself had been diagnosed with cancer back in 2015, after finding a lump under her right breast at the end.

Following that, she began six months of chemotherapy before having a mastectomy and she explained how difficult it was to tell her kids - including Jamal and his younger sister Tanisha, 27.

"I can remember all the 'what ifs?' and my main 'what if?' was, 'what am I going to tell the kids?' It was so... everything all at once. There is no right or wrong way of telling your children that you have cancer," she said.

Jamal was handed a MBE in 2015 (PA)

"It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do just looking at, literally, the colour just drained out of my children's faces. I want to cry but I can't cry because I don't want to show you that side because I then didn't want them to be panicking."

She added: "They always know me as being strong and I wanted to give them hope and be positive so that they would be positive. So as much as they were crying and it was hurting me to see them upset and crying, I didn't, I couldn't."
