Loose Women's Ruth Langsford stops show to check on audience member

Ruth Langsford stopped Loose Women on Tuesday after being left concerned about someone in the audience.

Monday was a huge day for the ITV lunchtime show when, after two years without one, the panel got to do the show in front of a crowd in the studio. When Ruth's colleague Christine Lampard announced the change at the start of last month, demand was so high for free tickets that the Loose Women website crashed.

Sadly for the programme, it's big moment on Monday was overshadowed by more pressing matters, with it being delayed by 20 minute s to allow for live coverage of the Conservative leader reveal, with Liz Truss' victory speech interview eating into its usual time time.

Christine shared her delight at getting to have fans back in the show and, 24 hours, it became very apparent that there was an audience in attendance, when Ruth, fresh from her This Morning return, was interrupted after a cutting to a competition link, by someone sneezing loudly in the room.

Rather than just carrying on with proceedings host Ruth took the time to check they were alright, first saying: "Bless you," before joking: "That just proves we've got a live audience, that's what we love," as co-star Linda Robson started laughing beside her.

As the person in question was left embarrassed, Ruth assured them not to feel bad, adding: "Don't worry about it, it's absolutely fine," before asking: "Are you alright?"

Having just told them not to be embarrassed, Ruth then changed tact and left the person in question wishing the ground would swallow them up as she joked: "Now, where was I before I was so rudely interrupted?!"
