Loose Women's Ruth Langsford showed her support for her husband - fellow presenter Eamonn Holmes - with an emotional special media post. It comes after Eamonn has been very vocal in the wake of Phillip Schofield's departure from ITV.
Former ITV presenter Eamonn, who presented This Morning on Fridays with wife Ruth until 2020, accused Schofield of “toxicity” in an interview with Dan Wootton on GB News. It comes after former presenter Schofield, 61, resigned from the broadcaster and was dropped by his talent agency YMU after admitting to an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a younger male colleague.
ITV boss Dame Carolyn McCall said the broadcaster does not recognise allegations of a toxic culture at This Morning, saying “it deeply disappoints me”.
The chief executive faced questions from MPs alongside ITV managing director Kevin Lygo and general counsel and company secretary Kyla Mullins about Schofield’s exit during a recent Culture, Media and Sport Committee session in Parliament.
Ruth continues to work with ITV as a presenter on Loose Women, Chronicle Live reports. She has so far kept her silence on the controversy surrounding This Morning. She took to Instagram on Sunday to share a photo of her together with her late father. She also penned a post that also acknowledged Eamonn.
Ruth wrote: "To everyone, like me, missing their Dads today I send you a big hug. And Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful Dads out there, especially @eamonnholmes."
