Ruth Langsford made a comment that didn't go unnoticed by ITV viewers, as she appeared on This Morning for the first time since Phillip Schofield left the show at the weekend. And her time on screen came just hours after husband Eamonn Holmes made a scathing TV attack on Holly Willoughby.
Both before and after they lost their jobs as Friday hosts on This Morning. Ruth and Eamonn were the subject of reports that they didn't get on with Phillip and Holly and Eamonn did little to dispel those rumours when he laid into his former colleagues on GB News, accusing them of 'faking' their chemistry on camera and quipping that they should have won an acting accolade at the recent TV BAFTAs.
After a week of speculation about his future on This Morning and apparent strained relationship with Holly, Phillip took to Instagram on Saturday to conform he'd agreed to step down from his 21 year role as host, in a statement which acknowledged that 'the situation couldn't go on' and saw Phillip tell his fans he hoped This Morning would go onto a 'bright future.'

Phillip also said in environment when he would regularly discuss breaking news. he was aware that 'THis Morning had become the story' and that was very true of Monday's episode, which began with replacement presenters Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary paying tribute to him.
Holly was also nowhere to be seen as she began her half term break a week early and, when Ruth appeared on screen to tease what was coming up on Loose Women, she looked delighted to be speaking to Alison and Dermot, warmly greeting them by saying: "Hi, nice to see you," before joking about an item that the two hosts had just been discussing, before moving onto announce that newly confirmed Big Brother host AJ Odudu would be making an appearance in the Loose Women studio
Viewers were quick to highlight how happy Ruth looked, with one taking to Twitter to post: "Ruth looks happy!!!" A second tweeting: "How HAPPY does Ruth look," with a another observing: "Ruth managed a bit of chat today, wonder why"
Ruth's brief appearance on This Morning arrived on the same day that other half Eammon hit out at Holly live on GB News. Addressing what Holly said in her statement about Phillip leaving, Eamonn blasted: "She says “I thank him for all his knowledge, experience and humour”. All the things that she didn’t have when she came to the show. Well it’s true! I would call that stabbing in the back."
