Ruth Langsford 'exposed' her Loose women colleague Coleen Nolan for a catty remark she made about her off-camera, while laughing off the remark as she revealed what was said to viewers at home.
After some time off over Christmas to look after husband Eamonn Holmes as he recovered from major surgery and a nasty fall at home, ex This Morning star Ruth has been back on the lunchtime talk show as a regular anchor over the last few months and was back to do the honours on Tuesday as Coleen and colleagues Denise Welch and Janet Street-Porter say alongside her.
Viewers were left wondering what had gone on when Loose Women returned from an ad break during the one hour long episode and Ruth was seen laughing away. Spilling the beans on what had made her chuckle, Ruth told fans: Sorry, do you know what she just said to me? Glad you could make it in from EasyJet today. Don't encourage her. I will let it go."
Coleen was also full of giggles as Ruth let slip the content of the conversation, before backtracking and adding: "You look lovely."
Coleen's gag about Ruth's outfit came 24 hours after she was shown up by Monday's Loose Women presenter Kaye Adams, for having the same top on as someone in the studio audience. Kaye had clocked the blouse on the fan during a break and told her long standing co-star: "£Coleen you’re looking absolutely ravishing in that blouse.”
Sensing that the compliment would turn to be anything but, Coleen asked Kaye when the punchline was coming, to which the Strictly contestant told her: "Well yes, because you’re not wearing it quite as well as Keira out there.”
Kaye then ordered audience member Keira to stand up so she could show that she was wearing the same top as Coleen on camera, with Coleen then quipping: "No expense spared on this show, eh?”
