Ruth Langsford was left close to tears on Friday as the Loose Women panel bid farewell to available member of their team at the end of the show.
While she wasn't on the ITV daytime show in an official capacity for its latest live episode, in the closing moments it was revealed that the former This Morning host Ruth was in the audience for a poignant reason, to give a send-off to Loose Women's long-serving make up artist Donna May Clitheroe, who is walking away from the programme after 20 years.
It was Friday's presenter Kaye Adams who broke news of Donna May's exit, saying: "Before we go, we have to say after 20 years, this is the last day of our dear friend Donna May. The heart of our make up room. She's sat there with Ruth, I don't think Ruth's going to let her go."

As the camera cut to Ruth, she looked close to tears as she put her arm around Donna's shoulder and begged: "Don't go Donna!" Quizzed by Ruth on why she was leaving Loose Women, Donna explained that she wanted to focus on her own business that she'd been building up on the last few years.
As the closing theme music kicked in, Ruth told Donna: "Look at those four gorgeous up there. You did that," as, in agreement, Kaye added: "Donna, you have just been, are and will continue to be a wonderful friend to us all, so thank you so much."
Donna has previously spoken about life as a celebrity makeup artist, a job that has also seen her work with high profile stars like Tess Daly and Melanie Sykes, to OK Magazine, saying: "I think making them feel comfortable and letting them know that you are approachable and trustworthy,"
