Nadia Sawalha launched into scathing attack on Liz Truss, within moments of Friday's Loose Women starting, as she declared she didn't have the 'intellect or integrity' to be prime minister.
The Loose Women had a day off on Thursday as Andi Peters took the helm of the ITV show for a Loose Men special and, moments after the programme came off air, ITV cameras cut to Downing Street for a live news broadcast as PM Truss announced her intentions to step down, after just 44 days in the role.
Addressing the country's media and millions of viewers tuning in at home, Truss said: "This morning I met the chairman of the 1922 Committee, Sir Graham Brady.

“We’ve agreed that there will be a leadership election to be completed within the next week. This will ensure that we remain on a path to deliver our fiscal plan and maintain our country’s economic stability and national security. I will remain as Prime Minister until a successor has been chosen."
Truss' resignation was the first point of discussion on Friday's Loose Women, with Nadia wasting no time in laying into the outgoing PM for her 'lack of apology' in her statement, while also saying she thought there was something 'very dark' going on.
Beginning her takedown of Truss, she said: "Just that speech alone made me so angry, not a hint of apology, no humility; people's mortgages across the nation are going up by hundreds of pounds a month. The place is a mess and she comes out, almost a little bit annoyed she wasn't able to deliver her mandate, which let' face it, was probably something she played about with on the back of her envelope when she was at 'uni' with her friends."
As host Charlene White reacted with shock to that dig, Nadia continued: "All the people that worked with her for 10 years must have picked up she didn't have the nous for the job; she didn't have the intellect, she didn't have the integrity, she didn't have the character. Yet, she was put in there."
Moments later, Charlene sought the opinions of the audience on whether, firstly, King Charles III should intervene and demand a general election, for which nearly everyone raised their hands and then whether they they'd welcome Boris back in Truss' place.
A fair few raised their hands in support of that notion but, on seeing hands go up, Nadia blasted: "A proven liar who broke the law again and again," as co-star Judi Love remarked: "You lot are messy!"
