Loose Women's Linda Robson breaks silence on Holly and Phil feud after NTA's snub

Linda Robson has broken her silence on the drama surrounding herself and Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

The Loose Women star appeared to 'refuse' to clap for the This Morning duo when they won at the National Television Awards for the fifth-year in a row earlier this month, after a tough few weeks for the two presenters amid the fallout from the Queue-gate saga.

Holly and Phil appeared to receive a frosty reception from the audience at the event when they were named the award winners, with Loose Women gang seemingly amongst those not delighted with their win - with reports there were even jeers from the crowd amid the on-going fallout from Queue-gate, which saw Holly and Phil criticised for seemingly jumping the line to see the Queen lying in state.

Viewers watching at home noted how Linda - who sparked outrage yesterday thanks to her supportive comments about Boris Johnson - appeared not to applaud the This Morning team as the ITV show beat Loose Women to take home the gong for Best Daytime TV Show.

Speaking on Loose Women the day after the star-studded bash, Dame Kelly Holmes admitted she 'wasn't very good' at hiding her disappointment at missing out on an award, as Linda seemingly focused on explaining how much fun she and her co-stars had getting glammed up for the event.

But almost one week on from the National Television Awards, Linda has broken her silence on the speculation she refused to clap for Holly and Phil - stating how there is 'no issue' between herself and the This Morning stars.

"We just showed that we were disappointed that we lost, and we are allowed to be disappointed," Linda explains.

"It wasn’t that we didn’t clap, we were just going ‘oh no, not again, we haven’t won this year'. It wasn’t deliberately not clapping them; we were just sad for us," the star adds when speaking to The Sun.

Kicking off Friday's edition of Loose Women last week - the first show since the National Television Awards - Kaye started things off saying: "It's the morning after the night before, we did have a great time."

"Congratulations to This Morning and thank you to everyone who voted for us," the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant continued as she and her co-stars - including Linda - clapped.

After Linda revealed they all "really had fun" and shared how delighted she was to get her makeup done and get glammed up, Kaye admitted she was keeping an eye on Dame Kelly's face as it was announced This Morning had beaten Loose Women once again at the National Television Awards.

Dame Kelly was also disappointed to miss out on the award (ITV)

"I'm not very good at hiding my emotions," the retired sports star admitted, after Kaye explained the competitive athlete is used to winning awards and honours.

"Nothing against This Morning at all but we were really revved up," Dame Kelly continued, going on to add: "It was such a great time."

Holly and Phil received a mixed reaction as NTA for Best Daytime Show for the fifth year in a row on Thursday night [October 13], but Holly apparently left the star-studded ceremony early after their win - reportedly sneaking out and heading home around 10pm and leaving her co-host to party without her.
