Loose Women's Kaye Adams reveals why her family are banned from Strictly Come Dancing studio

Strictly Come Dancing contestant Kaye Adams has joked that her family are banned from the BBC dance studio in case they put her off.

Kaye, 59, has been documenting her Strictly journey for fans on social media and recently shared a snap after a 'hard day's' training in the studio. Lying on the ground with her head in her hands, the Loose Women panellist captioned the post: "Let's just say it was a hard day at training yesterday... Slow and (un)steady wins the race, right!?!!"

The broadcaster was met with words of encouragement from her fellow contestants, as Fleur East commented: "I know the feeling!! smashing it Kaye," alongside a red heart. Meanwhile CBBC's Molly Rainford wrote: "Mood".

This comes as the BBC ballroom dancing show's launch will air on Friday 24 September, with the first live show taking place the following night on Saturday 24 September. Rehearsals are fully underway ahead of the first live show, as Kaye has teased her family will be watching at home.

Kaye revealed that her family are banned from the dance studio in case they put her off, though she has said they aren't bothered. She said: "They're quite happy with that." She's in a relationship with long-term partner Ian Campbell. Kaye and her partner, who's a tennis coach, have two daughters together; Charley, 20, and Bonnie, 16.

Discussing keeping her family away from the dance studio, she said: "There's quite a clear separation between my work and my family." And she suggested that the fact the family live in Glasgow would make it difficult anyway. She commented about such: "It's expensive to come from Scotland!"

Kaye is best known for being a panelist on Loose Women, having initially appeared on the ITV show from 1999 to 2006. She later returned in 2013 and remains on the panel.

She's also been a guest presenter on This Morning, was a regular panellist on The Wright Stuff from 2007 until 2012 and she appeared on The Celebrity Circle last year. The journalist follows in the footsteps of other Loose Women panellists like Ruth Langsford, 62, and Judi Love, 42 who have previously taken to the Strictly dancefloor.

The new series' launch had been due to air earlier this month but it was postponed by the BBC. It came following the death of the late Queen Elizabeth II on September 8.

It will now be broadcast on Friday evening. The episode will reveal which professional dancer each celebrity has been partnered with for the competition. The launch has been pre-recorded but it will be followed by the first live show of the new series on Saturday.
