Loose Women's Kaye Adams left fearful over 'sexism' accusations during chat on Macron photo

Loose Women host Kaye Adams stopped in her tracks when discussing a photo of Emmanuel Macron baring his chest, due to fear of 'sexism' accusations.

While many viewers weren't expecting the ITV talk show to be on given it was Easter Monday, it was on slightly later than normal with K aye joined on the panel by Frankie Sandford, Katie Piper and Jane Moore. As well as interviewing Bucks Fizz star Jay Aston about her daughter's battle with meningitis and discussing pioneering new Disney film Turning Red, the Loose Women reacted to a photo of French president Macron, posing with his shirt opening, proudly displaying his hairy chest.

Macron has been accused of trying to get younger voters on side as he battles to beat Marine Le Pen, by releasing a string of informal snaps, one of which sees him lounging on a yellow sofa, with his shirt unbuttoned, showing of his wealth of chest hair. Reacting to the photo, Kaye said: "You looked and that and thought double standards didn't you?" to which Katie replied: "He's giving me all the right feelings. But I do think it's really unfair as if that was a woman, with a top that low cut; if they had a big bosom, they'd be seen as a bimbo, not that intelligent, unprofessional. So it is double standards."

Kaye responded: "The only thing is and I don't actually know, but culturally, they might be different in France and I don't know if they would have that reaction to a female politician. If anyone out there's French they can correct me, but I don't know if they do. I think they're a bit more comfortable with their allure."

After Frankie remarked that 'there was too much hair,' for her, saying it looked like Macron was wearing "a hairy t-shirt," Kaye commented: "You've made me feel a bit self conscious, because, I look at that and I quite like a hairy chest but then I don't want to seem like an old letch. And if you're throwing the whole sexism thing in, I've got to be very professional haven't I? How annoying. Can I not just say that looks really good? He wears it well."
