Kaye Adams was backed by her Loose Women colleagues as she admitted that her experience on Strictly Come Dancing hadn't quite lived up to expectations.
The ITV talk show went all out for a big reveal to confirm that host Kaye was on the line-up for the new series of the much loved show, throwing a few red herrings into the mix, before Kaye was officially unveiled as the Loose Woman who'd be sashaying onto the dancefloor.
Kaye was partnered with Kai Widdrington for her stint on Strictly, less than 12 months after the popular pro was dealt a bitter blow, when his celeb dancer AJ Odudu sustained a bad injury in rehearsals, meaning they had to pull out of the 2021 final, with just days to go.
Kaye and Kai opened their Strictly account with a mean and moody tango in week one, before having a lot of fun with their Charleston routine a week later. However, the couple didn't secure enough votes from viewers to escape the dreaded dance-off and ended up being the first couple to be eliminated from the show this year.
The subject of Kaye being on Strictly came up as each of the panellists on Friday's Loose Women were asked to reflect on their last 12 months and, after Denise Welch opened up about how much her dad's death had affected her and Kelly Holmes spoke about feeling 'free' after her very public coming out, Kaye came very close to saying she regretted signing up for Strictly.
After being asked by Denise: "If you could go back to the start of the year, what would you tell that Kaye?" Kaye replied: "I'd say Kaye you can't dance, don't do it," as her co-stars all assured her that she could.
Kaye added: "What I told myself when I made the decision to do it was 'Kaye you've got to put yourself outside tour comfort zone,' because you hear that's good for you. Now I maybe think it's called a comfort zone for a reason."
She then candidly admitted: "I had hoped it would create a new me and it didn't, so maybe I just have to be happy with the old me" before Denise told her: "But we don't want a new you."
