Denise Welch has relived a mortifying moment from her past at Whitley Bay Ice Rink that she'd rather forget on Loose Women.
Denise has been a regular on the ITV discussion show for two decades now and has never been backward at coming forward when it comes to opening up about her life, both the good and the bad. Last week the ex Coronation Street and Waterloo Road actress had a few tears as she appeared on the show, a year to the day since her dad Vin died.
And it was on Tuesday's Loose Women that Geordie star Denise opened up on an unwanted, but unforgettable thing that happened to her while she was attending a teenage disco at Whitley Bay Ice Rink, a venue famous for hosting sold out concerts by the likes of New Kids on the Block and Take That back in the day.

Denise owned up to the embarrassing memory during a discussion on whether parents should control what their children wear and, thinking back to her childhood and her night at the disco, Denise said: "My mum, for some reason she didn't want me to wear this dress; she made me wear these trousers, a blue school shirt - she told me cravats were in for girls. And I wore a cravat, a side parting and I remember I was at the bar, getting a soft drink or whatever and some guy came right the way across this dancefloor and he went 'are ye a lad or a lass?'"
She added: "That's stayed with me ever since," as co-stars Janet Street Porter and Coleen Nolan burst out laughing.
The mention of Whitley Bay Ice Rink also prompted a rather unfortunate moment for Loose Women host Kaye Adams, after Janet remarked that that was where she say Bros, with her remark coming just days after Kaye was voted off Strictly,. while Bros legend Matt Goss was saved by the judges.
