Loose Women's Denise Welch praised for rage at Matt Hancock over I'm a Celeb

Denise Welch had an 'explosion' of anger on Loose Women today.

The panellists of the ITV talk show were discussing the recent news of Tory MP Matt Hancock entering the I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here jungle.

The disgraced politician resigned as Health Secretary following a public affair amid the coronavirus pandemic. He broke his own rules at a time when people were unable to spend final moments with their dying loved ones.

Denise exclaimed: "He's not a celebrity" amid a fiery rant where she heavily criticised his role as Health Secretary. She reminded viewers that he was at the forefront of the rules that made it illegal to get in your car to go and see your family, while he was having an affair.

She said she was "fuming" as she explained that she is still suffering repercussions from the pandemic. The TV personality wasn't allowed to see her dad when he was dying of pneumonia. She said: "I live with the pain of that every day." The 64-year-old explained her annoyance as she said: "He's going to go in there and pretend that he's Mr Nice Guy."

Fans on Twitter applauded her, and agreed with her. Amy said: "Denise is absolutely right about Matt Hancock. She is also expressing the total anger all of us feel who lost loved ones to Covid & weren't allowed to visit them even in their final moments! It's still too raw for most of us, probably always will be. #LooseWomen @RealDeniseWelch"

Kayt said: "Denise Welch not holding back on #MattHancock #LooseWomen". Michael said: "#LooseWomen Go Denise spot on".

It isn't the first time that the Loose Women panelist has vented her frustration over the matter. When the news first broke of him entering the jungle, she took to Twitter herself.

She asked "how dare he?" as she wrote: "I bet all those people living with the pain of not being ‘allowed’ to be with their loved ones in the last years of their lives will be so excited to see Matt f***ing Hancock in the jungle!! How dare he!!!"
