Loose Women's Denise Welch furiously hits back at cruel jibe about her dad

Denise Welch has issued a furious response to a Loose Women viewer who made a cruel jibe about her dad Vin.

After Vin underwent extensive surgeries in hospital last year, a heartbroken Denise revealed the sad news in September last year that the 84-year-old had passed away, following a battle with pneumonia. Taking to Instagram, Denise wrote: "He left us surrounded by his family who could not have loved anyone more.

"I can’t quite function as I’m so grief stricken, but I know he meant so much to so many people, even those who’d never met him. I've never seen anyone fight to stay longer at a party than dad and last night was no different."

Denise has spoken about her dad on countless occasions on Loose Women, being upset and frustrated at not being able to see him as much as she'd liked while he was still alive, due to lockdown restrictions and angry in the aftermath of his death after the Downing Street rule breaking all came to light.

She talked about Vin again on Thursday but one person watching at home took exception to her discussions and tweeted: "Did Denise's dad die? She never mentioned it." Denise quickly seized on the horrible post and replied: "Yes he did. The show is about us and our lives Rob!! So go f**k yourself"

Denise was back by her Twitter followers as she made her defiant response, with one telling her: "Some people are just so mean and hurtful - your response was wholly warranted," with another commenting: "Absolutely right Denise talk about your dad every second of every day if you must. I talk about my mum as much as I can to keep her memory alive, keep talking about Vin we love hearing about him."

When another Twitter user then asked Denise why she'd even respond to such a 'spiteful' post, she fired back: "Why not?"
